Training Programme on Quality Improvement in Black Pepper organised at KVK Kodagu in Association with Spices Board, Madikeri


ICAR-Krishi Vigyan Kendra Gonikoppal in association with Spices Board, Madikeri conducted a training programme on “Quality Improvement in Black” at KVK Gonikoppal campus on 18th February, 2019. About 40 farmers and horticultural officials participated in the programme. Mr. M.P. Somayya, president of the Puthari Farmers Producer organisation was the Chief Guest during the function. Technical presentations on black pepper production technology and post harvest quality improvement were handled by Dr. S.J Anke Gowda, Head, ICAR- IISR-RS Appangala. Dr. Faisal, scientist IISR Appangala elaborated on the Pest and Disease Management in black pepper. Sri. K.A Devaiah, SMS horticulture, KVK Gonikoppal gave a talk on the nursery production technology in black pepper. The whole programme was sponsored by Spice Board Madikeri. At the start of the programme, Dr. Anil Kumar, Asst. Director, Spice Board welcomed all the dignitaries. Dr. Saju George, Head, KVK presided over the programme. The whole programme was compered by Mr. Prabhakara B. All the farmers actively participated in the programme and discussions.
